Ronèl Wishnuff | Piano + Organ
I am a highly accomplished pianist and organist with a passion for teaching.
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from the university of Witwatersrand. In Johannesburg, I also completed a teaching credential and a concert performance diploma.
After relocating to San Diego in 2002, my husband and I established the Wishnuff Music Studio. Soon after, I completed a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogue from SDSU.
I am currently the organist/pianist at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church and serve as the official accompanist for both the San Marcos high School Choir and the North Coast Singers. One of my other passions is choral singing, which continues to inspire and enrich my musical journey.
With over 35 years of teaching experience, I have taught piano, theory, and music history, transferring a joy and love of music to the next generation.
I freelance as an accompanist and teach piano from my home studio in Vista, CA.
Jon Wishnuff | Drums + Percussion
I have been a dedicated music educator and have shared my love for music for over 40 years. After earning my Bachelor of music degree from Indiana University, where I studied with some truly inspiring teachers I began a career that has taken me around the world. I have taught students of all ages, from giving private drum/percussion lessons for more than 4 decades to teaching at the University of Pretoria and working with schools in Israel, South Africa, and the United States. I have also served as an Artist I Residence, helping young musicians in elementary, middle, an high school bands grow in both skill and confidence.
As a seasoned performer, I have been fortunate to play with some incredible ensembles, including has held prestigious positions with orchestras around the world, including the Jerusalem Symphony, the Israel Philharmonic in Tel Aviv, and the South African Broadcasting Orchestra. I also spent time as Principal Percussionist and Timpanist with the State Theatre Orchestra in South Africa. Since moving back to the U.S., I have performed with the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, the Classics for Kids Orchestra and even the lively 2nd Avenue Klezmer Band. What I treasure the most is the chance to share my passion for music- whether on stage or in the classroom- and to inspire the next generation of musicians.
